A Few Good Workouts

The Freemotion has been delivered and installed :) I just completed my first workout and it was a doozy. 10 minutes on the easiest trail and I burned 154 calories. It started off nice and easy with a 7% incline at 4mph. Slowly it continued to go up and up and UP!!! By the time I go to 31% incline I thought my legs would literally fall off. I was sweating like a pig, panting like a dog, and whatever other figurative animal device you want to throw in. So, as I'm sitting here typing this blog, I'm mopping up the sweat and pounding a water bottle.

The good news is that this machine is sure to be my key to success. It shows no mercy. Every time I felt like the incline or speed was too much, I would lower them. the Freemotion didn't like my work ethic and it bumped it right back up after 10 seconds. It is pretty much like having Jillian Michaels in my living room screaming at me to get my fat ass to work! I LOVE IT! I think this is exactly what I needed. After a week of two-a-days, I'm sure to shed some major body fat :)

In other weight loss news. . . Cali attempted to work out on the machine but only got as far as standing on the belt and sniffing. She claims that she is optimistic about working out at least two to three times a week but there will be none of the incline nonsense. I type this about her as she is eating her second breakfast besides me. . . some cats are so stubborn.


This is my motivation to get in shape for the week. I want to be able to hike back to this lake without falling behind everyone. Without feeling like I'm an old lady. Without complaining that the hike is too long or hard!
